About Alerts

Alerts may only be used in conjunction with video displays.

An integrated Alert notification system allows an Alert Administrator to create and display custom alert messages on all, or selected, video display appliances on your network.

An Alert is useful for broadcasting time-sensitive, critical information updates to your display audience. An Alert can be created and sent from within the software or, it can be created and sent from a mobile device.

When sent, the Alert message information overrides all currently scheduled presentations and is displayed full screen on the selected displays for the specified duration. It is automatically displayed in the following format – it alternates between red text on a white background and white text on a red background. The text size of the message is maximized. 

The Alerts and Alert History pages are accessible from the Displays tab and are only displayed for users with the Alert Administrator role and only an Alert Administrator can create and send an Alert.

The Alerts page gives you access to the following information about Alerts:

  • Alert Message: This is the Alert notification message text. The maximum number of characters for an Alert message is 300 characters.
  • Target Appliances: This indicates the number of display appliances to which the Alert was sent.
  • Sent By: This displays the user name for the user who sent the Alert. Only a Display Administrator can send an Alert.
  • Date and Time: This displays the date and time the Alert was sent.
  • Duration: This displays the duration for which the Alert will be displayed.
  • Alert Status: This column displays the current status of the Alert. Status types include:
    Active (Not Confirmed):The Alert has not reached all displays it was sent to. It may be displaying on some of the intended displays.
    Active:The Alert has reached all the displays to which it was sent and is currently being displayed.
    Cancelled (Not Confirmed):An Alert Administrator has cancelled the Alert but the cancellation has not reached all of the displays it was originally sent to.
    Cancelled: An Alert Administrator has cancelled the Alert and it is no longer showing on any displays.
    Completed (Not Confirmed): It cannot be confirmed that the Alert has reached all of the displays to which it was sent or that the Alert was shown for the specified Alert duration.
    Completed:The Alert has reached all of the displays to which it was sent and the Alert was displayed for the specified Alert duration.
    Overridden:The Alert was overridden by a new Alert before it was completed.
