You select and define the settings for the web page you want to add on the Add Web Page page.
STEP 1: If not already completed, follow the procedure to Add items to a video Play List.
STEP 2: Specify the URL:
- In the URL field, type the URL for the web page you want to display (e.g., http://www.yourwebpage.com). Click the Preview link to verify that the URL address was entered correctly.
- (Optional) In the Description field, type a word or phrase to further describe the web page (e.g., company home page).
- (Optional) If the web page has embedded audio, check the Do Not Cache box.
NOTE:
If the web page you want to display is a local html page – i.e., it’s located on the Appliance – then use the following syntax to display the web page – “f:///”. Usually 3 forward slashes are required; however, for some pages you will only need to use 2 forward slashes. For example, if you wanted to display a page called “stream.html” that was located on the Appliance you would enter the following in the URL field file://C:/Documents and Settings/Administrator/Desktop/stream.html.
STEP 3: In the Size and Position section, specify the area of the web page to be displayed:
In the Scroll Left field, type the number of pixels to scroll in from the left edge of the web page. (This does not create margins, rather it moves the 'window' in to highlight the specified area of the web page. Also, please be advised that this scroll function only works when the actual web page is larger than the placeholder it is in.)
In the Scroll Top field, type the number of pixels to scroll down from the top edge of the web page. (This does not create margins, rather it moves the 'window' down to highlight the specified area of the web page. Also, please be advised that this scroll function only works when the actual web page is larger than the placeholder it is in. )
In the Width field, type the width, in pixels, of the web page area to display. The width should match the width of the Placeholder in which the Play List will be displayed. The default setting is 640 pixels.
In the Height field, type the height, in pixels, of the web page area to display. The height should match the height of the Placeholder in which the Play List will be displayed. The default setting is 480 pixels.
STEP 4: In the Sequence and Schedule section:
- Specify when and for how long the web page is displayed:
In the Play Sequence field, type the position the web page should take in the Play List sequence. The number of items currently in the Play List sequence is displayed to the right of the Play Sequence field (i.e., if this is the third item to be added to a Play List it will display "3 of 2"). In the Duration field, type the number of seconds the web page should display onscreen. The default setting is 10 seconds. - By default, all new content items are scheduled to display 24/7 (24 hours/day, 7 days/week, beginning the date the Play List is approved, or if the Play List is approved, the date the content item is created). To create a specific display schedule for this content item, click Use Schedule to display the scheduling options, then specify a schedule for the item.
STEP 5: In the Logging section:
- Click the Enable Logging checkbox to enable logging for the Web Page. This enables Proof of Play, where you can run a Proof of Play report on the run time data for the Web Page as a Play List item.
- Click Save or Save & Close.
NOTES:
- The Size and Position section allows you to specify an area of a web page to display. If the Scroll Left and Scroll Top field values are not specified, then the web page content that fits within 640 pixels from the left edge of the page 480 pixels from the top of the page will be shown.
- You can only add items to a Play List when the status of the Play List is ‘Draft’ or ‘Revised.’ You cannot add items when the status of the Play List is ‘Ready,’ ‘Rejected,’ ‘Approved’ or ‘Revised.’
