When you create a new live data Play List Item, the Add Live Data Wizard guides you through the steps to select, then format the type of live data you want to add.
- On the Add Live Data page, click Sports Scores.
- On the Select Sports Category page, click the sports categories you want to display. You can select All Sports or selected categories, category options include – MLB Baseball, NFL Football, NBA Basketball, NHL Hockey, NCAA Basketball, NCAA Football.
- (Optional) If NCAA Basketball or NCAA Football is selected, you have the option to select which games you want to display scores for. Click the drop-down field provided to select from the available options.
- Click Next.
- On the Select Layout page, click the Select link associated with the layout design you want to use to present the news headlines for the categories selected. Available layouts are presented in Thumbnails view, however, you can change view them in a list format by clicking View as List.
- On the Customize Layout page, customize the following Layout Properties:
Score interval: this is the time period that controls the frequency at which scores are updated. The default setting is every 5 seconds. Team Name Type: this specifies the format to use to display the team name. Game Status Type: this specifies the format in which to show game status – short or long. Text font: this specifies the font used to display the text used to display the team names and score. Indicate Winner: this option allows you to select a method by which to indicate the winning team - text or background. The default is text. Click the background field to select a color in which to display the text or background. The default background color is black. Background: this specifies the background color on which to display the all information associated with the sports scores. The default color is white. - Click Next.
- On the Schedule and Sequence Live Data page, specify when and for how long this Play List Item will be displayed:
Play Sequence: this value is used to specify the position the Item should take in the Play List sequence. The number of items currently in the Play List sequence is displayed to the right of the Play Sequence field (i.e., if this is the 10th item to be added to a Play List it will display "10 of 10"). Type over the default value to reposition the Item. Duration: this value specifies the number of seconds for which the Item should display onscreen. The default setting is Play Until Done. To specify a specific value, uncheck Play Until Done and type a value (in seconds) in the Duration field. Schedule: By default, all new Play List Items are scheduled to display 24/7 (24 hours/day, 7 days/week, beginning the date the Play List is approved, or if the Play List is approved, the date the content item is created). To create a specific display schedule for this Play List Item, click Use Schedule to display the scheduling options, then specify a schedule for the item. - (Optional) In the Logging section, click the Enable Logging checkbox to enable logging. This enables Proof of Play, which allows you to run a report on the run time data for the Play List item.
- Click Create.
- On the Manage Live Data page, in the Name field, type a name for the new Play List Item. The default name is New Sports. The name assigned must be unique within the software network.
- Click Save or Save & Close.
