Display Network

Configure the settings for a proxy or firewall

If you are using a proxy or firewall, you must do the following to ensure that the Display Network software will function correctly:

Ensure that http traffic on Port 80 is allowed both inbound and outbound for either your entire network, or if you prefer, only for the computers being used as Appliances for the following addresses and ports:

  1. www.risedisplaynetwork.com on Port 80. (Inbound and Outbound)
  2. Content.risesoftools.com on Port 80. (Inbound and Outbound)
  3. http://data.risedisplaynetwork.com on Port 80. (Inbound and Outbound)
  4. http://rdna.risedisplaynetwork.com on Port 80 (Inbound and Outbound)
  5. http://im.risedisplaynetwork.com on Port 5222 (Inbound and Outbound)

The recommended  option would be to allow the domains .risedisplaynetwork.com and .risesoftools.com inbound and outbound access on Port 80 and Port 5222 to either your entire network or for only the omputers being used as Appliances.

  1. If using a proxy, on the Appliance you must enter the proxy information into the “Rise Player Configuration” by going here: Start > All Programs > Rise Vision > Rise Player Configuration.
  2. If using a proxy, on your appliance, if the Rise Player cannot connect to the internet, it will shut down immediately after trying to connect. To enter your Proxy information into the Rise Player application, you will have to start it manually by following this path: C:\Program Files\Rise Softools\Rise Vision Enterprise\RisePlayer.exe. Double click on the RisePlayer exe to get it to start. Once it starts, right click on the Rise Player icon in your system tray and choose Properties, go to the Proxy Settings, and enter in the necessary proxy information.
  3. If using a proxy, on your appliance, to ensure that data is going to pass through the proxy, you need to enter the necessary information into the Rise Data Provider. If your Rise Data Provider does not start up automatically, you can start it up manually by following this path: C:\Program Files\Rise Softools\Rise Data Drivers\datamngr.exe. Double click on the datamngr.exe to get it to start. Once it has started, right click on the Rise Data Provider icon on your system tray and choose Properties, then go to Tools –> Options, and then go to the Connections tab. Enter in the necessary proxy information. Close the Rise Data Provider, and restart the RDNA service.
  4. If using a proxy, once your appliance has successfully passed through the proxy and is showing demo content or the presentation you have designated for that appliance, enter the proxy information for that appliance on the Appliances page on the Rise Display Network by going to http://www.risedisplaynetwork.com, and logging in. Once you have logged in, go to the Displays tab, and on the Appliance page, find the appliance. Once you have found your appliance, click on the Settings button at the bottom of the screen. In the Configuration section, click on the More button to show all the different proxy info that can be entered. Enter the appropriate information, and press Save.
  5. If you are still having problems connecting to the Display Network from your appliance, enter the following information into your Proxy or Firewall:
  • Port 80, 443, and 5222 is allowed inbound and outbound for IP’s: 98.129.187.50, and 72.32.37.85
  • Port 80, 443, is allowed inbound and outbound for the RiseFW.ddr data driver located in C:\Program Files\RiseSoftools\Rise Data Drivers\Rise FinancialWire Data Driver\RiseFW.ddr.
  • If you are going to be using Financial Wire for Data, ensure the following sites are allowed through port 80 and 443 for both inbound and outbound:
    • https://ri2.rois.com/cgi-bin/GetSessionId.cgi
    • http://ri3.rois2.com/[sid]/CTIB/RI4APIQUOTELIST
    • http://ri3.rois.com/[sid]/CTIB/RI4APIQUOTELIST
    • http://ri2.rois2.com/[sid]/CTIB/RI3APISNAP
    • http://ri2.rois.com/[sid]/CTIB/RI3APISNAP
    • http://ri2.rois.com/[sid]/CTIB/RI3ONLINEREPORTS
    • http://ri2.rois2.com/[sid]/CTIB/RI3ONLINEREPORTS
  • If you are going to be using a user account to pass through the proxy, please ensure that this user has sufficient privileges to pass through the proxy both inbound and outbound on all necessary ports.
  • If you want to add URL’s to your presentation as Play List items, ensure that the website is allowed through your proxy or firewall or it will not show up in your presentation.
  • If you want to add flash (.swf), video (.mpg, .wmv, .avi), or images (.jpg, .bmp, .gif, .png), ensure that these file types are allowed to be downloaded through your proxy or firewall.
  • For Automatic updates to function correctly, ensure that .zip files are allowed to be downloaded through your firewall or proxy.
