Create a custom Presentation from a template

Presentations are only used in conjunction with video displays.

A new Presentation can be created using a Presentation template as the basis for it. The software includes a selection of Presentation templates at a number of standard display resolutions as well as some designed for dual display configurations that go up to a resolution of 3840 x 1080 (to support two 1920 x 1080 displays). If you require a Presentation to show across multiple displays or in a different configuration than is available, you will need to create a custom Presentation from scratch.

Select a template with a resolution that most closely matches the resolution of the display(s) for which you are creating the Presentation. Creating a Presentation from a Template is a multi-step process. First you select the template you want to use, then you customize it to meet your needs.

Only a Content Administrator can create a Presentation from a template.

STEP 1: Select a Presentation Template

  1. On the Content tab, click Presentations.
  2. On the Presentations page, click the Add link.
  3. On the Select Template page, find the Presentation you want to select. You can filter the Presentation Templates displayed by selecting the resolution you want in the Desired Resolution field.
  4. Click the Select link associated with the Presentation Template you want. Once selected, the Create Presentation page for the selected template will be displayed.

STEP 2: Customize the name and play schedule

  1. On the Create Presentation page, in the Name field, type a name for the Presentation. The name assigned must be unique within your network.
  2. (Optional) In the Description field, type a brief description to further identify the Presentation. This is helpful if you want to provide more detail about the Presentation (e.g., Lobby Presentation for 3rd floor).
  3. The default Play Schedule is Monday to Friday, 6:00 am – 11:00 pm (i.e., the Presentation will show on all selected displays from 6;00 am to 11:00 pm).
    - To play the Presentation all day, check ALL DAY
    -
To specify the time period, click the Start Time field to select a start time and click the End Time field to select an end time. Start and End time options are provided in 15 minute intervals (e.g., 6:00, 6:15, 6:30, etc.)
  4. Click Create. Your Presentation will be created and will automatically display on the Presentations page. Now you can customize the Placeholder areas of the Presentation template.

STEP 3: Customize the Placeholder areas in the Presentation

The typical Placeholders associated with a Presentation include a LOGO Placeholder, a Background Placeholder, and a main content window Placeholder. You can customize each of these Placeholders to display your logo, the background design and colors of your choice, and the specific mix of content elements you want, or you can replace them with other, already existing Placeholders. Please note if you want to replace them with other Placeholders, the replacement Placeholders  must be of the SAME resolution as those they are replacing.

The content displayed in a Placeholder area is content that is contained within a Play List. Therefore when you customize the content that is displayed in a Placeholder area, you are creating, or customizing, a Play List and adding the Play List to that Placeholder.

Do one or more of the following:

STEP 4: Select the displays on which the Presentation will be shown

By default a Presentation does not have any displays selected. You must select the displays on which you want to show the Presentation.
