This forum posting discusses some of the different iptv Software broadcaster options that are available. We are always looking to update this forum posting with any new broadcasters that you may find that you recommend, so feel free to reply with your thoughts and suggestions!
BlinkoTV (www.blinkotv.com)
With BlinkoTV, you can broadcast the TV channel or webcam via a webpage via code you can copy from http://www.blinkotv.com, and for a monthly subscription charge, other appliances outside or inside of your network will be able to view this webpage in their presentations. BlinkoTV can be used with an appliance with a built-in TV tuner or a standalone PC. The BlinkoTV Broadcaster can broadcast up to 4000 channels at one time. The only drawback of BlinkoTV is that subscriptions are based on the amount of appliances (viewers) watching the channel, and are necessary to broadcast.
Blinko TV’s pricing is based on the gigabyte usage used up by users viewing the broadcasted channels. Information on BlinkoTV’s pricing structure is detailed here: http://www.blinkotv.com/broadcasting_options
Blinko promises streaming, quality 30 fps video with a bandwidth minimum of only 244 kbps. The recommended is 500 kbps. There are several different software broadcaster options, however Blinko is one of the easier to set up and embed into a webpage.
To get started with Blinko, sign up for a free account and download the broadcaster. Install it on the PC or server that has the TV Tuner card or webcam that you would like to broadcast. Once you have it installed and you have a dedicated webpage running the broadcaster content, log into the Rise Display Network and put that webpage into a play list as a webpage play list item.
1AVStreamer (http://www.pcwinsoft.com/1avstreamer/)
1AVStreamer differs from BlinkoTV by being a 1 time cost that you must pay to purchase the software, however it takes a bit more effort to set up in a webpage to broadcast a channel, and it can only broadcast 1 channel at a time. With a PC or Server that has a Webcam or TV Tuner installed, you can download and install the broadcast software onto that computer, and it will act as a broadcaster for whatever channel you would like to share with a display. To broadcast the channel or webcam that you choose so that other appliances outside of the appliance it is running on can see it, you need to install and configure IIS.
1AVStreamer is a one time cost ($50), but requires IIS to be setup on the Appliance to broadcast to other appliances, which can be fairly complex to set up, and the 1AVStreamer software can broadcast only 1 channel at a time.
To set up 1AVStreamer, download the software from http://www.pcwinsoft/1avstreamer/, and set it up on the PC or server that has the TV Tuner card or webcam that you would like to broadcast. If applicable, set up IIS on the appliance, and move the stream.html page from the default location to the wwwroot folder in C:\inetpub. Once you start up the 1AVStreamer broadcast software and begin broadcasting your TV Tuner, you should be able to access that page by going to http://computername/stream.html. Once you have it installed and you have a dedicated webpage running the broadcaster content, log into the Rise Display Network and put that webpage into a play list as a webpage play list item.
Please let us know if you come across any other software broadcasters that you would recommend, and we will add them to the list.
Thanks!
